We are committed to taking care of New Zealand – our land, our sea and our culture – through the Tiaki Promise, and we ask that you keep New Zealand clean, show respect, protect nature, drive carefully and be prepared.
Please observe the following Park Rules and be aware of your guest responsibilities, so that your stay, and the stay of other guests, will be safe and enjoyable.
TBHP reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions with no prior notice.
1. General
- 1.1 Our business trading name is Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park (‘TBHP’, ‘Holiday Park’ or ‘Park’). We operate under Tāhuna Beach Camp Incorporated and provide accommodation in the form of camping sites, cabins and self-contained units within our Holiday Park premises.

- 1.4 All accommodation rates accommodation rates are GST (15%) inclusive and are in New Zealand dollars (NZ$). We accept Visa, Mastercard and New Zealand cash. Payment by credit card incurs a fee.
- 1.5 We ask for your co-operation so that your stay and the stay of other guests will be safe and enjoyable.
- 1.6 Check-in is after 2pm. Check-out is by 10am.
- 1.7 Our “Peak” (Christmas) Period is 20 Dec – 10 January; “High” Season is 1 October – 30 April excluding Peak. “Low” Season 1 May– 30 September.
- 1.8 Minimum stay requirements apply during Peak Season. These are 3 nights minimum in units, and 3 nights at 2-adult rate on sites.
- 1.9 A copy of these Terms & Conditions is provided to guests at the time of booking accommodation and such booking is confirmation of guests’ acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
2. Reservation Conditions
2.1 Payments
- A deposit of the first night’s tariff per unit/site is required within 14 days of booking to confirm all reservations.
- Credit card details are required at the time of booking for units.
- The balance of reservation (after deposit) is payable on arrival for the full term booked.
- There will be no reduction in fees for late arrivals, or refunds for early departures.
- Minimum stay periods/tariffs may apply during weekends, public holidays, school holidays and the “Peak” Period.
- TBHP reserves the right to alter tariffs without notice at any time before bookings are confirmed.
2.2 Alterations to Bookings
- Alterations can be made to reservations subject to availability and may require guests to accept a unit/site change.
- An administration fee may apply where alterations are made to reservations.
- TBHP reserves the right to cancel a reservation if the alteration reduces it below minimum requirements (as specified at clause 1.8) and cancellation penalties may apply. Alterations that increase the number of guests in a unit/on a site may require TBHP approval.
- Alterations to reservations which extend the number of nights reserved require payment for the extra nights in full on arrival.
3. Cancellations or Early Departures
- 3.1 The deposit for Reservations in the Low Season and the High Season periods is non-refundable unless THBP receives at least 3 days’ notice of the cancellation prior to arrival date.
- 3.2 The deposit for Reservations in the Peak Season (20 Dec – 10 Jan) is non-refundable unless THBP receives at least 30 days’ notice of the cancellation prior to arrival date.
- 3.3 There are no refunds for early departure due to weather or for any change in circumstances.
- 3.4 Reservations are not transferrable to another person unless TBHP consents to the transfer, at its discretion.
4. Tariff/Prices
- TBHP tariff/rates are reviewed periodically and may change when booking in advance from one season to the next.
5. Check-in
- 5.1 Two pm rule applies – On check we will confirm we have correct contact details and for units we have a credit card on file. We also require registration numbers for vehicles associated with the reservation to allow access through automated barrier.
- 5.2 Guests of TBHP must ensure their visitors check in with reception on arrival and leave by 10pm.
6. Check-out
- 6.1 Check-out time is no later than 10am to allow time for a full service of units prior to our next guests arriving at 2pm. Camp sites need to be left tidy ready for next guests arriving.
- 6.2 Late check-out may be accommodated for at the discretion of TBHP by prior arrangement. Additional charges will apply for late check-outs after 12pm.
7. Property Left on Departure
- 7.1 If guests leave any property (including temporary abodes and vehicles) at the Park on departure, TBHP may remove and/or store the property at the owner’s expense.
- 7.2 If the said property is not collected by the owner within four weeks of departure TBHP may dispose of the property at the owners’ expense.
- 7.3 Guests agree to TBHP recovering expenses relating to storage and disposal by way of TBHP charging their credit card or sending an invoice where no credit card is available.
- 7.4 Such property will be at the owner’s risk whilst in TBHP’s possession or in the possession of a storage agent. TBHP bears no responsibility for such property and shall not be liable for any damage to the property caused by third parties or for theft of the property.
- 7.5 TBHP shall not be liable to the owner or any other person for disposing of property in accordance with clause 7.2.
8. Overdue Accounts
- 8.1 TBHP reserves the right to charge overdue fees for amounts outstanding after the guest has departed.
- 8.2 TBHP also reserves the right to engage a debt collection agency to recover unpaid accounts and any charges incurred to carry out this action.
9. Alcohol
- 9.1 TBHP guests over 18 years of age may consume alcohol responsibly throughout the Park with the exception of The Deck Cafe and the Beachside Function Centre.
- 9.2 Any reports of guests behaving irresponsibly and causing disturbances may result in the cancellation of their reservation and them be required to leave the park immediately with no refund.
10. Drugs
- 10.1 TBHP have zero tolerance of any illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia in the Park.
- 10.2 Any detection of drugs or will result in immediate cancellation of reservation without refund and those in breach will be required to leave the Park immediately.
11. Smoking
- 11.1 Smoking is not permitted inside any of the units, the Beach House or other Park buildings.
- 11.2 When smoking outside, please dispose of cigarette butts carefully – throwing them onto the ground releases toxic waste into the waterways and can also be a fire hazard.
12. Behaviour
- 12.1 Reasonable behaviour is expected at all times in the Park.
- 12.2 Loud swearing, excessive drinking, loud parties and illegal activity will not be tolerated at any hour. (Consequences as per clauses 9.2 and 10.2.)
- 12.3 If you are being disturbed by your neighbours, please contact reception (03 548 5159) immediately during opening hours, or Night Security (03 545 7855) so the situation can be addressed.
13. Drones
- Drones are not permitted to be flown in any area of the Park due to our proximity to the Airport.
14. Bikes
- Bike helmets must be worn at all times by adults and children while riding bikes and scooters in the Park.
15. Children
- Parents/caregivers are responsible for their children at all times. Please supervise children in and around the Park and while they are using Park facilities and playground equipment.
16. Cleaning/Damage
- 16.1 Please notify reception as soon as possible of any breakages or damage to Park property, or of any cleaning or maintenance issues.
- 16.2 TBHP reserves the right to recover costs for damage or where extra cleaning is required by way of charging guests’ credit cards or sending an invoice where no credit card is available.
- 16.3 Facilities and barbeques must be left clean and tidy after use.
- 16.4 TBHP request that food with extreme odour is not prepared or cooked in the units or public kitchens, to avoid you incurring a $100 cleaning fee.
17. Pets
- 17.1 TBHP is pet-friendly from 1 February – 30 November in a designated camping area (Block 6 – Green Zone) of the Park by prior arrangement. A No-Pets policy is enforced between 1 December and 31 January due to the number of guests on sites.
- 17.2 No pets are allowed in units at any time of the year, except for approved service animals. If a pet is identified in a unit the guest responsible will be required to remove the pet immediately and pay an allergy cleaning fee of $150.00. Failure to remove the pet will result in eviction of guest responsible without a refund.
- 17.3 Visitors of TBHP guests are not permitted to bring pets on site (including in vehicles) at any time during the year.
18. Emergencies
- 18.1 In all cases of emergency, the Park-wide PA system will alert guests to the emergency. The system will operate even if there is a power outage. In the event of an emergency requiring the evacuation of the camp, TBHP will provide directions and the safest method via the Park-wide PA system and SMS.
- 18.2 Please refer to the back of the Park Map provided on arrival for specific emergency information, emergency assembly points and the locations of fire alarms and extinguishers throughout the Park. This information is also located outside of each of the ablution blocks.
19. Guest and Visitor Responsibility
- 19.1 All guests enter the Park at their own risk and are responsible for their own property, themselves, pets and other visitors to the Park.
- 19.2 Parents/caregivers – please supervise your children at all times.
- 19.3 Use pedestrian access when walking or biking through our entrance and never walk under the barrier arm at the entrance or exit.
- 19.4 Please inform management as soon as possible if any hazards are identified.
20. Fires
- 20.1 Braziers or open fires of any kind are not permitted in the Park.
- 20.2 Wood burners inside vehicles are not permitted in the Park.
- 20.3 Gas BBQs and gas cookers in safe working order can be used responsibly by adult guests.
21. Fridge Lockers
- TBHP have lockable chilled lockers for hire in Blocks 1, 3 and 6 if guests wish to store refrigerator items securely. A $20 bond is required, and hireage cost is $1.00 per day.
22. Gift Vouchers
- Gift vouchers are available for accommodation (nominate your own value) as well as for The Deck Cafe food and beverages, Mini Golf and Pedal Kart hire.
23. Keys
- 23.1 Guests may deposit keys in the drop box on the right just before the Exit barrier on their final departure. Alternatively, guests may leave the key in their unit, or return to reception.
- 23.2 If TBHP does not locate guests’ keys within 24 hours of departure, a charge of $50.00 may be made to their credit card. 50% will be reimbursed if keys are returned within one week of departure.
24. Parking
- 24.1 Cars, boats or trailers must be parked within site boundaries. No parking along the roadside, neighbouring sites or anywhere that is not a designated site.
- 24.2 There is allocated Parking for all unit accommodation.
- 24.3 Visitors of guests are not permitted to park inside the Park grounds from 15 December to 31 January as there is no room.
25. Privacy – Protecting your personal information
- We collect and store information about our guests and contractors for various reasons. We take the confidential nature of this information very seriously. For our full Privacy Policy please refer to our full ‘Privacy Policy‘ on our website.
26. Powered Sites
- 26.1 Campervans/caravans must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness (EWOF) to plug in to power and also comply with LPG Standard (AS/NZS3100).
- 26.2 Tents plugging into power can only use an approved and tested ‘camping style’ power cord (with 3 long round pins), one continuous length, with a safety RCD.
- 26.3 Please have EWoF documentation and the tested, tagged power cord available for TBHP to check if asked.
- 26.4 Power cords must stay within the boundaries of your site.
- 26.5 Guests must not connect campervans/caravans or tents on multiple sites to one power source.
- 26.5 THBP reserves the right to unplug any connection that does not comply with any laws or regulations or these Terms & Conditions.
- 26.6 Generators are not permitted at any time.
- 26.7 Please note: Any caravan older than 1993 is not compatible with the power supply in Block 1, unless internal electrics have been updated.
27. Public Access to Activities
- Visitors of TBHP guests/members of the public are welcome to pay for the use of mini-golf and pedal-karts, except during our Peak season.
28. Quiet Time
- Quiet time is expected and appreciated between 10pm and 7am. Please consider fellow guests at all times. (Consequences as per clauses 9.2 and 10.2.)
29. Rubbish / Recycling
- 29.1 We appreciate your help with sorting bottles, paper, cans etc from your daily rubbish and placing everything in recycling and rubbish bins located around the camp.
- 29.2 If camping, guests must take all their rubbish to the bins on the day of departure.
- 29.3 If staying in units your rubbish bin will be emptied by housekeeping. Please use camp bins for excess rubbish
30. Security Cameras
- 30.1 Security cameras are operational 24/7, however please ensure you lock up valuables as some people want your stuff to be their stuff!
- 30.2 TBHP have security staff on site throughout the night – they are contactable on 03 545 7855.
31. Site Set-Up
- Any living space set up must be at least 1.5m from the site boundaries. This is a Health and Safety requirement.
32. Speed
- 32.1 The maximum speed limit throughout the Park is 10kph. Please be watchful for children, pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles.
- 32.2 The road network throughout the Park is a shared zone and signs remind guests and visitors of this throughout the Park.
33. Visitors
- 33.1 All visitors of guests at the Park are to register at reception before entering the Park.
- 33.2 TBHP guests are responsible for their visitors at all times while they are in the Park.
- 33.3 TBHP reserves the right to refuse entry.
- 33.4 The vehicles of visitors of TBHP guests are not permitted in the Park during Peak season.
- 33.5 TBHP guests are welcome to have day visitors between 8.00am and 10pm. Staying after 10pm qualifies as an overnight ‘guest’ and must be paid for as such.
34. Waste-Water
- 34.1 Campervans and caravans must have their own waste container.
- 34.2 Wastewater and chemical toilets must be emptied in the dump stations provided.
- 34.3 Please note the Green Zone does not have a dump station. The closest dump station is in the Yellow Zone (Block 5).
35. Wi-Fi Connection
- 35.1 We understand that internet connectivity is important to our guests. TBHP has a maximum speed internet gateway and 97% of our guests achieve a great connection, however regrettably a few of our guests do experience issues with patchy or slow internet service and we know this can be frustrating.
- 35.2 We have worked on this for the last two years (2021-23) to provide a good user experience by increasing towers and receivers around the Park; this has led to considerable improvement, but the final piece is out of our control.
- 35.3 Obstructions within close proximity to you, particularly tall metal objects (such as campervans) can obstruct the service. Also, sometimes the issue is at the other end whereby the platform you are trying to connect with is struggling. A lot of users at one time will slow the service and using older devices will also slow the service. Sometimes it’s as simple as needing to turn your device off and back on again to ‘reset’.

36. Cancellations for Breach of Rules
- 36.1 TBHP reserves the right to cancel reservations at any time due to drunken or objectionable behaviour or when any Park rules are breached.
- 36.2 Where TBHP cancels reservations under this clause, no refunds will be given. The guests will be ‘black listed’ so will not be able to re-book in the future.
37. Health & Safety
- 37.1 Guests of the Park will comply with their duties and obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all relevant amendments and substitutions (the Act), together with all regulations, rules, guidelines and codes of practice (“associated instruments”) made under the Act.
- 37.2 Without limiting anything in clause 36.1, guests shall:
- Maintain an environment at the Park that is without risks to health and safety;
- Ensure that they do not expose themselves, their children or their visitors and invitees to health and safety risks that are under the guest’s control;
- Follow all directions and comply with all procedures given by TBHP in the case of an emergency;
- Ensure that they notify TBHP as soon as possible of any identified risks to health and safety of any person in the Park;
- Co-operate and assist TBHP to comply with its duties and obligations in relation to the Park (if any) under the Act and associated instruments.
- 37.3 Clause 37.1: “health” shall mean physical and mental health
38. Force Majeure
- 38.1 TBHP will not be liable for any delay or non-performance of its obligations to provide booked accommodation arising from any cause beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to acts of God, floods, storms, earthquakes, hurricanes, natural disasters, fires, explosions, warfare or other hostility, an act or threat of terrorism, invasion or infestation, embargo, strike, riot, interruption to transportation, epidemic or pandemic, government laws or regulations or restrictions, or any hazardous situation.
- 38.2 If the provision of accommodation or services are delayed under this clause then TBHP will advise guests as soon as reasonably possible and will resume performance of its obligations as soon as reasonably possible.
